So we built a simple fix: a custom‑molded, drill‑friendly liner that fits U.S. 5‑gallon buckets (Home Depot/Lowe’s sizing). Mix inside the liner, lift it out, and keep the bucket in rotation. Cleaner jobs. Faster turnarounds. Fewer buckets purchased.

What we made—and why it works

Meet the 5GBL Pro V1 Epoxy Resin Liner: a custom‑molded insert with a lip rim for easy removal, engineered from a 28‑mil PP+PE blend for tensile, tear, chemical, and heat resistance. Most 15‑mil LDPE bag liners aren’t molded for U.S. 5‑gallon buckets (Home Depot/Lowe’s sizing), so they don’t sit correctly—they slide, form pockets and folds, can wrap into the mixing paddle, and are not truly drill‑friendly, leading to tears and cross‑contamination. Ours is molded to U.S. pails, so it stays put, mixes cleanly, and resists paddle‑induced damage. It’s built for pro mixing.

We wish we could eliminate plastic entirely. Until then, we reduce it. Tossing a bucket each mix uses far more plastic than discarding a single liner and reusing the same bucket. Based on published weights, a liner uses roughly 10–17% as much plastic as a bucket—that’s about 85–90% less plastic per mix. For a crew like ours, avoiding ~2,000 buckets/year, that’s roughly ~1.8 tons of plastic kept out of the waste stream while keeping the same buckets working.
